Contingency or Executive Search?

Contingency: the usual way of utilising the services of a recruitment consultancy, i.e. instruct us to introduce and place a candidate with you for a fee. For more information see My Approach

Executive Search: another word for ‘head-hunting’. This type of recruitment is usually carried out on a retained basis and is proven to have better and quicker results. Employers work with Transparent exclusively and pay an ‘up-front’ retainer which equates to one third of the full and final invoice. Each stage is broken down as follows:

  1. Face to face meeting culminating in an agreement to work together exclusively; retainer fee agreed and paid (one third of full and final invoice)
  2. Provision of short-list and interview arranging (one third of full and final invoice due)
  3. Offer and placement (final third of full and final invoice due)

The above type of recruitment tends to be for senior/executive level vacancies which require a more discreet and confidential approach. If you instruct more than one recruitment consultancy to work with you, it is far more likely that confidentiality gets lost purely by virtue of more people being involved. We all know that the world of finance can be a small one at this level.

If you choose to use Transparent’s services whether it be on a Contingency basis, or on an Executive Search level, you can rest assured that Transparent will take the ‘hassle’ away from you and make the process seamless.
